About the Role
Service Requirements
The Contractor’s responsibilities will include the following:
Outputs
The Contractor must:
1. work with Service BC and contract staff to ensure line of business applications remain available and
operational, and to design, code, and test minor application changes as specified by Service BC staff.
2. Additional tasks may include upgrading software version including software dependencies.
Deliverables include:
3. Researching, troubleshooting, and resolving application issues reported by IT and business staff,
public users, and by automated alerts.
4. Developing application changes to fix issues, and to improve usability and functionality.
5. Update application code and configuration.
6. Resource usage estimates and plans.
7. Transition knowledge to program and operational support.
8. Ensure all required documentation related to the service is readily accessible by the Ministry and up
to date.

1. Expert in Java

4. CSS
5. JavaScript
6. jQuery
7. Oracle databases
8. SQL and PL/SQL
9. Web services
10. Preferred skills: WebMethods, Unix/Linux environments, Eclipse, JPA/Hibernate, Subversion, Struts,
Tiles, Jasper Reports.

The Developer is required to have the following expertise and skills:

9. Web services
Preferred skills:
10. WebMethods;
11. Unix/Linux environments;
12. Eclipse;
13. JPA/Hibernate;
14. Subversion;
15. Struts;
16. Tiles; and
17. Jasper Reports.
Response Guidelines
1. Examples of recent relevant experience, clearly illustrating the respondent’s depth of experience and qualifications to complete this engagement.
2. Respondent’s availability from December 1, 2024 to November 30, 2025, availability for extension beyond if needed, and confirmation of availability to work full time either on site at 940 Blanshard, Victoria, BC or remotely from within Canada and availability in the core hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific time Monday to Friday.
3. Two (2) client references.
4. All submissions MUST BE submitted in ONE (1) single .pdf document
5. Individual submissions must not exceed one page in length
